In this essay, Horobin investigates one of the most important, yet textually divergent, copies of the B text of PPl. Corpus Christi College Oxford 201 has often divided critics who have been frustrated by its numerous erratic and scribal readings. Horobin offers a reading of the manuscript’s reworking of the poem’s structure, numerous revisions, added lines and passages, and considers the light they shed on the manuscript’s production and early readership.
