The Illustrations of MS Douce 104.

A full listing and description of the seventy-two miniatures in the MS. The study is a slightly condensed and revised adaptation of Kathleen L. Scott, “The Illustrations of Piers Plowman in Bodleian Library MS Douce 104,” YLS 4 (1990): 1-86 (for a summary of which see YLS 5 [1991]: 226). Two appendices offer a decorative analysis of the MS. and a preliminary list of late fourteenth- and fifteenth-century English manuscripts with marginal illustrations (the latter appendix slightly expanded from that found in YLS 4 [1990]: 78-80).
