Langland’s Troianus

A response to Frank Grady’s assertion (YLS 6, 76) that the spelling “Troianus” for Trajan is unique to WL. Wenzel demonstrates that by the late fourteenth century in England, the “Troianus” form was conventional in Latin manuscripts.
