The English Dream Vision: Anatomy of a Form.

Incidental references to PPl (79, 124-26, 140, 199) in discussions of the following conventional features of dream vision: the narrator’s state of turmoil; the sense that the events and images of the dream narrative are symbolic but comprehensible to the reader without the intervention of the dreamer-narrator; the familiar dream vision movement toward liberation and salvation, communicated through the transformation of flaws and limitations into formulations of divine love and forgiveness.
